Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. My name is Jennifer Schaeffer. I am a certified full-spectrum doula. I currently live in Commerce, Texas, with my wonderful husband, my momma, and three of our seven beautiful children. I was born in Chicago and moved to Wisconsin when I was ten years old. I lived in Wisconsin until December 2019, when we made the big move to Texas. My husband and I were married in August 2001. We set our hearts on starting our family right away, but that wasn’t happening as easily as we thought. We decided to focus on helping children in foster care who needed a safe, permanent home. We were blessed to adopt six children over ten years. When we moved to Texas, I found out I was pregnant after eighteen years of infertility and losses. Unfortunately, that pregnancy also ended in loss. Months later, we were expecting again, and unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in loss as well. In November 2020, we found out I was pregnant again… Yes, three times, in one crazy year! Then, our miracle rainbow baby was born in July 2021. During my losses in 2020, I was blessed with a doula who helped support my husband and me during that tough time. I knew I wanted to become a doula so I could be there for women, as she was there for me. I took classes to become a full-spectrum doula and finished my certification in February 2022. I took a short break while my son was a baby. Since then, I have had so many wonderful experiences, supporting women, their partners, and families, as they go through their prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum journey. I have also had many virtual clients over the past few years. I have also walked through the valley with mommas who’ve suffered loss. It is my honor to serve women and provide the experience I believe every mom deserves. I love the saying, “I’m not a doula to hold babies. I’m a doula to hold mothers.” I take clients in the surrounding communities, such as Greenville, Sulphur Springs, and Wolfe City. I’m also willing to travel to Dallas, Rockwall, and Paris. Every family’s journey is unique, and it’s my most profound honor to walk alongside them—whether they are celebrating new life, grieving a loss, or navigating the many transitions of parenthood.

My mission is to provide unwavering support, informed guidance, and a compassionate presence during life’s most tender moments. Because every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, and held.

Genesis 25:19~25 ✨ If I had been Rebekah’s doula… 👶👶✨

Picture this: Rebekah’s in labor with twins. Esau is barreling out first, hairy as a bear rug, and Jacob is literally holding his brother’s heel like, “Not so fast, big guy!”

Meanwhile, there’s me in the corner with my doula bag like:

Wrapping a rebozo around Rebekah’s belly while Isaac side-eyes me like, “That looks like a camel blanket, are you sure?” 🧣🐪

Doing hip squeezes while she’s hollering, “This is NOT what God meant when He said I’d be the mother of nations!” 🍑💪

Coaching breathing techniques, but Jacob keeps interrupting with dramatic heel-grabs and sibling rivalry in utero. 🫁👶👶

Whispering affirmations: “You are strong… even if one child is trying to choke-slam the other on the way out.” 🤼‍♂️

Isaac, in the corner, was trying to “help” by offering stew recipes he knew Esau would later approve of—like father, like son, always trying to trade food for blessings. 🍲😂

By the time Jacob clings onto Esau’s heel, I’m just scribbling in my birth notes:
“Baby A: Red, hairy, future hunter. Baby B: Sneaky, heel-grabbing mastermind. Mom: Wants a snack and a nap. Dad: Already negotiating who gets first cuddles like it’s a birthright.” ✍️

And let’s be real—after delivering twins in a tent with no epidural, Rebekah 1000% would’ve hired me for postpartum doula care. Because when your boys are literally born wrestling, you’re going to need help with meals, sleep, laundry… and maybe a referee. 👩‍🍼⚔️

Moral of the story? Even in biblical times… every momma needed a doula. 😉
